World Mental Health Day: Moria’s silent epidemic
This World Mental Health Day, I need to tell you about Moria. You may have seen the news about this notorious ‘reception centre’ in Greece; more than 8,000 people have been crammed into the camp, which was designed to host fewer than half that number.
Stranded there for months on end, many vulnerable refugees are giving up all hope. A majority of the people we serve there have had suicidal thoughts; a third of them have already attempted to take their own lives.
