We, as so many, were shocked and saddened by the news of the tragic and untimely death of Labour MP Jo Cox yesterday.
Christians in Politics will be joining tonight with many others, to show our support for Jo’s family, the local community and all those who feel particularly affected at this time. A vigil is being organised in Parliament Square at 7pm which we will join, however we felt it particularly important to stand with our Christian brothers and sisters from across the parties to pray for Jo’s family, our MPs and the nation. Christians on the Left, the Conservative Christian Fellowship, the Liberal Democrat Christian forum and others will be standing together in prayer as Christians in Politics. We will be congregating before the main vigil at 6.30pm in Parliament Square
We appreciate that many of you may not be able to make it to London but, wherever you are, please do join us in prayer at this time.
As Jo’s husband, Brendan, said yesterday: “at this time, we should all unite to fight against the hatred that killed her”. Let us all do just that.
